It Will Become
“Fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.”
We’ve heard these words countless times at Mass, part of the Eucharistic prayer.
It’s such a good formula for us.
Something earthly, something human, becomes something far more than that. We take something our eyes tell us is one thing, our minds tell us is one thing, but it becomes so much more.
This is true at Mass but also with our very lives.
Our duties, our obligations, the mundane crosses we bear each day—they become for us the road to heaven. They become the path of sanctity.
Because in the Lord’s hands, he makes all things new. He can bring good from anything.
Even our ordinary lives. Even the routine, the repetitive, the boring.
Even from all of that, He can make us saints.
