One True Prayer
Praying for others should be part of our daily routine. It’s a gift we have. The reason we even ask for the saints’ intercession is that the Lord hears our prayers and we can pray for one another.
I was reflecting recently about what I’m really praying for when I pray for my children.
Plenty of things come to mind. I want them to be healthy. I want them to do well in life. I want them to be happy.
But at the end of the day, if there’s one thing I truly desire for them, it’s this: that they do what God wants them to do.
That they fulfill His will for their life, wherever that calls them.
Because I know that will lead to joy and success—maybe not in the world’s terms, but in God’s terms. And ultimately, that means they will live a life of purpose instead of a life without purpose.
Which is terrifying for anybody.
So that’s our prayer for our loved ones. That they do the Lord’s will. What more could you ask for.
