When we say someone is âfull of themselves,â we mean more than just self-centered. We mean theyâre so consumed with themselves that it spills outâin their words, their actions, how they treat people. Itâs not just whatâs happening inside their head. Itâs radiating outward for everyone to see.
Now flip that image.
What does it look like to be full of the Holy Spirit? To be so full of God that it canât help but overflowâin your speech, your actions, the way you love people?
Think of Moses coming down from Mount Sinai, his face shining so brightly from being in Godâs presence that people couldnât look at him. Thatâs what happens when youâre full of God. It radiates. People can see it.
Weâre wired for thisâfor contemplation that leads to action. You canât stay hidden with God and not have it change how you live in the world. The two are connected.
But hereâs the question: What are we contemplating?
Because whatever fills our inner life will eventually show up in our outer life. If weâre consumed with ourselves thatâs what radiates. If weâre consumed with Godâspending time with Him, listening to Him, letting Him transform usâthatâs what people will see.
You canât hide what youâre full of. It comes out.
