You can't win a fight that you don't know you're in.
Here's the thing we forget: we are in a fight. A spiritual battle of life and death.
Most of us go through our days thinking we're just making ordinary choices. Coffee or tea. Check email or pray first. Netflix or that book we've been meaning to read. Stay up scrolling or get the sleep we need.
But every single one of these moments is part of something bigger. The enemy isn't taking a day off while we decide what to have for breakfast. He's working overtime to convince us there's no battle at all.
That's his best strategy – keeping us unaware. Because when we don't realize we're in a fight, we don't fight back. We just drift.
Scripture doesn't mince words about this: "Our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with principalities, with powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness."
The moment we wake up to this reality changes everything. Suddenly that morning prayer isn't just a nice habit – it's suiting up for battle. That decision to turn off the phone and actually be present with your family isn't just good parenting – it's winning ground.
Once you know you're in the fight, you can start fighting back.
