I recently had a flashback to my childhood years, when my brother and I would play video games usually sports like basketball, baseball, or football. We’d play as Derek Jeter, Kobe Bryant, or Tom Brady, but what was relatively new at the time was this idea of creating your own player. You name him, you decide I want him to be 6’3”, 225 lbs, with 90th percentile speed, 95th percentile power, and on and on.
It’s something that of course only exists in a video game. Because in the real world, those aren’t the rules.
God did and does want you to be a certain way, He desires you to be a certain person, different from the other players on the field.
God created each of us, not as a final product, but as the beginnings of something.
He gives certain gifts, talents, virtues, but He doesn’t give them out of the box – they’re just the seeds.
We can look at our lives right now and we can say, “I am not this or that,” but maybe one day we could be.
Let us pray. Heavenly Father, You created us out of nothing for a purpose. You formed us in the womb, give us the grace to be the person You desire us to be. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Keep fighting the good fight. Our Lady of Victory, pray for us.
