Several saints have said it in slightly different ways, but the idea is the same: each and every day, we have the opportunity to live our lives for the love of God.
What that means practically is this. No matter our state in life, our vocation, our age, or our season — we have duties. To God, to our neighbor, to our family. And then there are the small tasks that fill the rest of the day. The ordinary stuff.
If we can do those tasks with great love, we can turn them from something simply human into something supernatural. Something with effects beyond this life.
St. Teresa of Calcutta put it simply: “Do small things with great love.”
I think you could tweak that slightly: do all things with great love.
Let us pray. Lord, help us to do everything today — the big and the small — with great love, for love of You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Keep fighting the good fight. Our Lady of Victory, pray for us.
