One method of praying with the Gospels is to place yourself in the scene — to find a person in the story and observe from their vantage point. Sometimes that works easily. Sometimes it takes a little more effort.
The Transfiguration has always been one of the easier ones for me. It’s miraculous, yes — but it’s also intimate. Awesome in the truest sense of the word.
If you have time today, read the Gospel account. Place yourself there. Be with Peter, James, and John on that mountain. Be in the Lord’s presence as He appears in His glory — however your imagination depicts that. Let yourself encounter Him in His humanity and in His divinity, all at once.
Just be there with Him.
Let us pray. Lord, give us a glimpse of Your glory, and draw us closer to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Keep fighting the good fight. Our Lady of Victory, pray for us.
